- Publishing your Web Site
After you create your web site - you need to ensure you have
named your homepage either, “index.htm/index.html/index.shmtl
/ default.htm/default.html or even index.asp/index.php.”
This will tell all the computers mainly browsers that
the file is the start of your web site - commonly known
as the home page.
If you don't have a file or page named as above - your
web site will not display. Instead - our default page
showing the account is indeed active will be displayed.
To transfer your files to your web space - you will
then need to point your ftp client to our server as
follows:
Ftp host name: ftp.yourdomainname.ext
Username: xxxx
Password: yyyy
Default or remote directory: public_html
You will need to replace ' xxxx' and 'yyyy' respectively
with your unique login details passed to you by our
sales team.
If your login has been successful, you see the following
directory structure.
temp
public_html
public_ftp
mail
etc
www
Please do not rename any of the folders on the server
and only upload your files in the public_html folder.
Only material uploaded in the public_html folder will
be viewable on the Internet. That’s it; your web
site is live and available for the whole world to see
24hrs a day.
