This is the storage area
on the hard disk !When you access a web page your browser
saves it's texts and graphics in the cache.The next
time you visit the page , the parts that haven't changed
are loaded from the cache rather than from the page
on the web!

This is the file on a
computers hard disk which is used by Web sites to store
information about internet sessions,such as when you
last visited a site and which pages you viewed.
Cyberspace
This is the imaginary
world for internet surfers,in other words,the internet

This is the classification
of internet addresses giving each address a unique series

such as hosting!ISP's have permanent connections to
the Net and use servers to handle the exchange of data
between external computers.

A server is a computer
which provides other computers with information.Web
sites are stored on Web servers.
POP3
This stands for (Post
Office Protocol 3).lt is a program used to retrieve
messages from mail servers.
RAM
RAM stands for ;Random
Access Memory.This is the place in a computer where
the data in current use is stored so that it can be
quickly reached .When your computering is loading -
it is actually transferring data to the RAM.

World Wide Web (www)
This is the same as cyberspace.The
part of the Internet that contains hypertext documents.

This is the space on the
Web dedicated to hosting Web sites.ln other words -

The local application
you use to connect to an Internet server. It interprets
and displays HTML encoded documents in graphic format.
Client
The application on your
computer that interconnects with a server.
GIF
An acronym for Graphic
Interchange Format. The Graphic Interchange Format is
a common cross-platform, WWW format for graphics.
Hypertext
Computer documents that
contain links embedded in text or graphics. Hypertext
links display related information when you click on
them.
Internet
The largest computer network
in the world.
JPEG
A acronym for Joint Photographic
Experts Group graphic format.The JPEG format was developed
for high-quality photographs and supports 24-bit images.
Another common WWW graphic format is the GIF format.

These are "hot spots"
embedded in text or graphics that display related information
when you click on them.
Local site
Web pages that are installed
on your local computer usually while undergoing construction.
Web page
A text document which
is encoded in HTML, displayed by a browser application,
and accessible from remote sites via the WWW.
Web site
The collection of all
files which are linked to a central Web page and are
available via the World Wide Web.
Bandwith
Bandwith is also
known as traffic to and from your web site.. This is
calculated as the the amount of visitors to your site
and the amount of data requested from your site. Higher
traffic sites need a large amount of bandwith, where
as low traffic sites need a small amount.
